Thrice Weekly Services Between Cairo And Los Angeles
The Egyptian flag carrier announced back in February that it would be expanding its United States operations with the resumption of Los Angeles and a new service to Chicago. The service to Los Angeles will operate three times weekly, which was last served back in 2001, and was a Cairo – New York JFK – Los Angeles routing.
Onboard the airline’s A350-900, EgyptAir offers a configuration of 330 seats, with 30 in the carrier’s business class, and 310 in economy. Chicago flights are set to commence in June, with a three-weekly service on the same aircraft type to take off from June 21.
Currently, EgyptAir already operates to two other U.S. destinations, including
Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD). These new flights to Los Angeles and Chicago are designed to benefit both the tourism sector and business travel, and furthermore, connecting the Middle Eastern communities that live across the United States.
Non-Stop From Cairo To Los Angeles
The thrice-weekly service is scheduled to depart from Cairo on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday, with the service taking approximately 14 hours and 50 minutes non-stop. Departing from Cairo as MS983 at 8:30 AM, the service travels through the daytime for an early afternoon arrival into Los Angeles at 1:20 PM.
Return flights depart on the same day, leaving Los Angeles as MS984 at 5:25 PM in the evening and traveling overnight with a next-day arrival into The City of a Thousand Minarets ( Cairo) at 5:10 PM (+1 Day). This has an approximate flight time of around 13 hours, 45 minutes. The first flight, which touched down this week, was celebrated by Los Angeles International Airport, as shared on the airport’s Facebook page:
