Based in Lubbock, the second aircraft, known as Kite Flight Two was added to meet growing demand for high-risk natal mothers as well as neonatal, and paediatric transports across the region and is equipped with to support the needs of those missions including incubators for neonatal patients.
The addition of Kite Flight Two is also expected to increase increase aircraft availability, enhance response capability during periods of high demand, and provides greater operational readiness when one aircraft is already committed to a mission or undergoing maintenance.
“Adding a second Kite Flight aircraft strengthens the system connecting communities across West Texas and eastern New Mexico to the specialised care they need,” said Bobby Sanchez, regional director for Global Medical Response. “For patients in rural areas, distance can be a significant barrier to care. This expansion gives the region greater transport capacity and another pathway to advanced care when every moment matters.”
