Trelleborg Sealing Solutions Aerospace has appointed Proponent as a distributor of its aftermarket aircraft components. Proponent is now the global distributor for products from Magee Plastics Company, which was acquired by Trelleborg in December 2024.
The former Magee facility in Warrendale, Pennsylvania, USA, which has since become part of the Trelleborg Sealing Solutions aerospace business unit, specialises in producing high-performance thermoplastic and composite materials.
These materials can be applied in areas such as thermoforming and vacuum forming, for manufacturing aircraft cabin components such as window shades and assemblies, sidewall panels, passenger consumer units and air grills, ceiling panels, cargo area panels, seat parts, lavatory and galley components, flight deck equipment, and entire cabin retrofit interior systems.
“This new arrangement benefits customers by providing continuity of excellent products and service but in a more efficient way,” stated Gordon Roper, president of Trelleborg’s global aerospace business unit. “Trelleborg Sealing Solutions Aerospace has had a long-standing relationship with Proponent and sees this extension of the partnership as valuable to the market and service of customers.”
In 2025 Trelleborg Sealing Solutions also acquired Aero-Plastics Inc, a US-based specialist supplier of aircraft interior components made from polymers. The acquisition extends Trelleborg’s product portfolio and capacity in the growing aerospace sector.
