The Alliance for New Mobility Europe, in a Linkedin post, reports that the SESAR Joint Undertaking Governing Board has approved additional funding from the reserve list of the SESAR ER3 and IR” calls for 2025, including two additional U-space-related projects, one of them coordinated by D-Flight
“The budget left for calls for 2027 is extremely limited,” reports the Alliance. “With this, one of the major EU funding sources for civilian UAS/IAM technologies is drying out until 2028. Funding streams through other European programmes are urgently needed, particularly but not exclusively through Horizon Europe and with a focus on getting the technologies on the market….preparation for a successor Aviation Joint Undertaking as from 2028 are underway.”
Meanwhile, Andreas Boschen has been reappointed as Executive Director of the SJU.
