31,075 Skydives Across 43 Countries Mark A New High For World Skydiving Day

Thousands of skydivers took to the skies Saturday, July 11th, turning a worldwide celebration into a record setting event.

The third annual World Skydiving Day recorded more jumps in a single day than ever before. From tandem students making their first descent to experienced jumpers adding another entry to their logbooks, drop zones worldwide became part of the same global effort.

A total of 31,075 skydives were reported across 43 countries, surpassing the previous record of 30,351 jumps set in 2024.

Participation increased 16.3% from the previous record setting year, with thousands of newcomers joining experienced skydivers for the event.

World Skydiving Day is a collaborative effort between the United States Parachute Association, Australian Parachute Federation, British Skydiving and Canadian Sport Parachuting Association.

Beyond the numbers, the event gave drop zones an opportunity to bring together local communities and introduce new participants to the sport.

“Records are made to be broken,” said USPA Executive Director Albert Berchtold, noting the event’s ability to welcome newcomers while celebrating experienced skydivers.

The next World Skydiving Day is scheduled for Saturday, July 10th, 2027.

Another record will be the obvious target, but the bigger achievement may be the growing number of people discovering what happens when aviation, adventure and a shared passion bring thousands of jumpers into the same sky.
