German aerial work platform rental company Schmid Hebebühnenverleih has taken delivery of a 40 metre Cela DT-40 hybrid spider lift.

The new machine – purchased through Cela distributor DHS, with support provided by DHS service partner, Plošiny Rybáček – has a maximum outreach of 19 metres and an up & over clearance of 19.5 metres, and can reach 9.5 metres below ground level. Maximum platform capacity is 300kg, or 275kg when used for material handling.

Established around 40 years ago, and now managed by the second generation of the Schmid family, Schmid Hebebühnenverleih is based in Munich with depots in Augsburg and Landsberg, from which it runs a fleet of aerial work platforms, spider cranes, trailer cranes and telehandlers. It promotes itself as ‘Green Schmid’ and is working to convert its entire fleet to the most environmentally friendly equipment on the market. Schmid is also a member of PartnerLift, the German association of independent rental companies. It also runs a sideline in tree pruning.
