The Texas Department of Public Safety (Texas DPS) has signed a five year contract with hoist, rescue and advanced helicopter training providers SR3 Rescue Concepts(SR3) . The contract delivers full and guaranteed access to SR3’s suite of helicopter rescue training programmes to the Texas DPS for a term of five years with pricing fixed to the end of 2030.
SR3 says that the flexible access to the company’s training curriculum will allow the the Department flexibility to tailor each training event to the specific needs of its teams. This training includes initial and advanced helicopter hoist rescue, aerial use-of-force, tactical medical, helicopter underwater escape, NVG, and night hoist operations. Advanced curriculum options include open water, swift water, high altitude, and mountain rescue scenarios.
Speaking about the deal, Dave Callen, Owner of SR3 Rescue Concepts said: “This contract is a testament to the commitment Texas DPS has made to the safety and preparedness of their aviation crews. Over the past three years we have trained much of their agency statewide, and this agreement takes that relationship to the next level. Instead of coordinating each class one at a time, Texas DPS now has SR3 at their disposal multiple times a year across every base in the state for the next five years. That kind of continuity and flexibility is what saves lives.”
