In the span of just seven months, this Houston penthouse went from empty concrete box to snazzy duplex atop one of the city’s luxury condo buildings.
Taking up half of the Belfiore’s top two floors, the brand-new unit sprawls across almost 9,000 square feet. A private elevator whisks you up to the penthouse, which was once owned by an entity affiliated with the family of Bob McNair, the late billionaire who founded the Houston Texans. An engraved detail concealed in one of two primary suites nods to that lineage, and the developers are considering incorporating another, larger homage to McNair in the final design.
Luxe La Cornue and Gaggenau appliances have been installed in the kitchen.

Fit for football royalty, the condo features plenty of high-end details, including custom materials and finishes created locally or sourced from Italy and Turkey. The kitchen, situated on the main floor, is a particular standout, showcasing a massive island topped with Viola marble and a full suite of Gaggenau and La Cornue appliances, including multiple ovens that will come in handy for entertaining large groups. Meals can also be enjoyed in the accompanying breakfast nook, the formal dining room, or one of two corner terraces.

The formal living room spans the length of the unit, providing plenty of space for lounging with friends and family. There’s also a casual family room off the kitchen and a cozy media room for watching TV. Other highlights include a large office, a wine cellar, and a massage room.

The main primary suite has a fireplace-warmed sitting room and a dressing room.

Between the two floors, connected by a winding central staircase, you’ll find a respectable five bedrooms, three bathrooms, and three powder rooms. As mentioned, there are two primary suites: The main retreat has a sitting room heated by a water-vapor fireplace and a gallery dressing room with a vanity. The ensuite bathroom, meanwhile, has both a steam shower and a jetted soaking tub.
As part of the 45-unit Belfiore, the penthouse—on the market for $11 million with Justin Dugat and Misty Meredith at Douglas Elliman—also comes with access to the building’s amenities, which include a pool, athletic club, and dog park.
