The DIMOR Group, the owner of WACO Classic Aircraft and Centennial Aircraft Services, has announced it will end its manufacturing operations and aircraft maintenance services in Battle Creek, Michigan.
The decision was made in conjunction with Waco Aircraft’s sudden closure on Wednesday. Its employees received an email in the morning telling them not to report for work and a notice was posted on the front door of the building stating that the owners have decided to cease aircraft production and maintenance services, effective immediately.
DIMOR claims that rising production costs and ongoing limitations in market demand have made continued U.S. production unsustainable. Approximately 60 employees will be affected by the closure. The Battle Creek facility was opened just last year to include JUNKERS aircraft, according to ABC 13.
Production of the JUNKERS A50 Junior, A50 Heritage and A60 aircraft will continue through the DIMOR Group’s sister entity in Oberndorf, Germany. Additionally, the Centennial FBO at the Battle Creek Executive Airport (BTL) will continue its services.

The company states it is deeply appreciative of the City of Battle Creek, BTL and its community for its partnership and collaboration.
“The DIMOR Group and WACO Aircraft extend their sincerest gratitude to our dedicated employees in Battle Creek,” said the company in its release. “Their craftsmanship, professionalism, and commitment to excellence have been integral to the success of our aircraft and operations.
